This field consisted of some of the Top teams in the region and starts a run of 3 straight DII tournaments that should feature some of the Top teams in the nation!
The Lady Knights were hit by the injury bug, as they are already without Lesley Winford due to a long term wrist issue (she will be back in the spring!) and were down to 4 players for this tournament due to a fractured wrist by Sophomore Caitlin Cole.
The Lady Knights started off in glorious conditions by shooting a 333 which left them 9th.
Coach Belfield "We didn't have too much fun on the greens today, we had 2 decent scores from Nicola and Carol but our Top 2 didn't really play to their normal standard. We are expecting to improve tomorrow."
The Lady Knights shot 336 on the Final round to keep them in 9th, behind conference rivals Wayland Baptist but ahead of Western New Mexico, Lubbock Christian and Colorado Springs.
Coach Belfield "Playing with only 4 hurt us today as Carol didn't have her best game. Overall its not the worst result, it hurts to not beat Wayland as I think we are much better than them but it is another learning experience. Pleased to see Nicola playing better, expect her to break out over the next couple of weeks!"
Led by Fariza Zain T13th (81-79), Daniela Martinez placed T18th with 82-79,
