Lady Knights finish 11th in Final Fall event, Fariza Zain 4th!

Your Lady Knights played for the 3rd straight week against the best DII school in the nation as they competed at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate hosted by Cameron University at Ft Sill GC in Ft Sill, Oklahoma.

Playing again with 4 players but in sunny but blustery conditions, the ladies shot 321 to open the tournament. Led by a solid 75 by Fariza Zain, the ladies lay in 10th overnight. Fariza was backed up by 78 from Daniela Martinez, 80 from Nicola Jeffries and 88 by Carol Galindo.

The second round was played in perfect conditions. Warm and with little to no wind the scoring drastically changed as players took advantage of the benign conditions.
The Lady Knights improved to a 318 on the second round however with all teams vastly improving from the 1st Round, the second round score meant a drop to 11th place overall.

Coach Belfield "The ladies played better than the score suggests. Both Nicola and Daniela should have been at least a couple of shots better in the 1st round and Fariza could have gone really low with just a couple more holed putts. We have just struggled in the 4 spot and having no 5 player to back up is always tough, it leaves no room for error.
It is really pleasing however to see Nicola playing well, she really should have broken 80 both days but this tournament just confirms how far she has come along! Fariza is capable of winning any tournament, any time, looking forward to seeing her again progress during the offseason and into the spring.
The girls now have a few months to work on some things and get better, combine that with gaining Lesley and Caitlin back we should be much stronger in the spring and be able to challenge Oklahoma City for the Sooner title".

Led by Fariza Zain T4th (75-74), Daniela Martinez (T23rd 78-78),
Nicola Jeffries placed T33rd with 80-78 Carol Galindo (71st 88-88)
