Lady Knights finish 12th at Dallas Baptist

Your Lady Knights continued their fall season at the Golf Club of Dallas at the DBU Women's Classic hosted by Dallas Baptist University.
Surrounded by the cream of DII golf the Knights were coming off a 9th place finish the previous week in Amarillo and were looking forward to putting that tournament behind them.

Again playing with 4 players, the first round was played in the pouring rain and the Lady Knights battled hard against the elements to post a 340. Led by Fariza Zain who opened with 79 the Lady Knights struggled to manage the conditions and find themselves in 12th place overnight.

The second round brought breezy but bright conditions and the Lady Knights played golf much more becoming of their talents as they fired a 317. Whilst this did not move them up any spots it did keep them ahead of conference foe, Texas Wesleyan.
Nicola Jeffries led the charge by breaking her own personal best and breaking 80 for the first time in college by firing a 78! Much improves scores from Carol and Daniela helped the Lady Knights.

Coach Belfield "The ladies didn't play very well the first round in the rain it was especially strange to see Daniela shoot that kind of a score, she is much better than that. I am looking forward to the girls firing on all cylinders. The second round brought a new personal best from Nicola, she has worked her backside off over the last couple of years and finally her short game is allowing her to take advantage of her good shots, its great to see! The second round was much better and gives us a nice springboard to go into our last tournament with."

Led by Fariza Zain T20th (79-78), Nicola Jeffries placed T36th with 84-78,
Daniela Martinez (T42nd 86-78) & Carol Galindo (T65th 91-83)

RESULTS!!
