Oklahoma City leads by ten strokes going into the final round

LINCOLN Neb. - (Team Results | Individual Results| Fourth Round Pairings) For the second-straight day Oklahoma City maintained the clubhouse lead of the 2013 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships. The 19th annual event is being played out at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb.

The Stars tied the lowest round they carded in the tournament with a 305. Oklahoma City has recorded rounds of 310-305-305 for a three day total of 920 for a 10 stroke lead over second-place British Columbia. The Stars will be looking for its sixth national championship in school history tomorrow.

British Columbia has carded scores of 312-308-310 – 930 for the national championship to be in second place. One-stroke behind British Columbia is third place Lubbock Christian (Texas) after recording scores of 304-314-313 – 931 (+67).

Fourth-place Cal State San Marcos is two strokes behind third place Lubbock Christian. Cal State San Marcos carded its highest score of the championship today to fall to fourth place, after being tied for first after two days. The Cougars have carded rounds of 310-305-318 – 933 for the national championship. Rounding out the top five is William Woods (Mo.). William Woods also carded its best round of the championship with a309. The Owls set at 937 after the third day of the event.

Jessica Schiele of Oklahoma City continues to hold the lead on the individual leader board. Schiele recorded scores of 75-68-74 -217, tying for the lowest score after 54 holes. Sofia Molinaro of SCAD Savannah (Ga.) improved five spots in the standings after even-par during the third round. Molinaro sits eight-strokes behind, Schiele, with rounds of 79-74-72 – 225 for the national championship.
Elia Folch joins teammate Schiele in the top three. Folch sits third overall, with rounds of 75-78-74 – 227 (+11) for the championship. Sunny Powers of Concordia (Ore.) sits in fourth 16-over-par for the national championship with rounds of 75-80-77 -232 after three rounds. Rounding out the top five is the third player from Oklahoma City, Taylor Howard. Howard recorded rounds of 78-80-79 – 237 (+21) for the first three days of the national championship.
