Oklahoma Christian Claims Top Spot

(NEW YORK, NY)—The 2012 season’s first Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA College Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II, III and NJCAA will appear in the March 5, 2012 issue of Golf World and is live now: http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-tours-news/blogs/college-golf/mens-coaches-polls-2/

Oklahoma Christian claimed 11 of the 15 first-place votes to retain its spot atop the Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA men’s coaches’ poll. The Eagles won twice in the fall and earned a victory in their first spring tournament, the San Antonio Shoot-Out after voting closed on the poll.

In the No. 2 spot was Oklahoma City, up from No. 3 to end the fall and replacing Grand View, which fell only one spot. Rounding out the top five were Lee and Northwood (Fla.)

One new program entered the top 10: No. 6 Texas Wesleyan.

Two new schools cracked the top 25: No. 24 Shorter and No. 25 Northwood (Texas)
